We had an active week in the portfolio. One position was sold while we added 3 new positions for the week. With the latest activity, the Trade Anatomy portfolio is now 100% invested across 17 positions. Many of the open positions continue to trend higher and several have now moved well beyond their entry points. Those that have been trending upward for awhile now have trailing stops that if hit will still allow us to lock down healthy profits. The watchlist also had a little turnover with 6 additions and 4 deletions from the list. Because the portfolio is now 100% invested, I've decided to create a new watchlist section that will track breakouts from the list. This will allow followers a chance to see more trading opportunities then what has been posted in the past. If a stock breaks out or appears to be getting close, I will post a possible entry as well as an initial stop price for position sizing purposes. Once it's been posted, I will track the performance for each position. If the initial stop or trailing stop are breached then an exit date and price will be posted.
The 3 additions to the portfolio last week were MSLI, RTEC, and VDSI. HABT was removed from the portfolio because it closed below it's initial stop price.
MSLI was added to the portfolio on 6/2/2015 at 2.60. The initial stop was set at 2.28 risking .65% of our account value. The percentage of our portfolio allocated to this trade is 5.28%
RTEC was added to the portfolio on 6/3/2015 at 13.14. The initial stop was set at 12.23 risking .40% of our account value. The percentage of our portfolio allocated to this trade is 5.78%
VDSI was added to the portfolio on 6/3/2015 at 27.35. The initial stop was set at 25.44 risking .40% of our account value. The percentage of our portfolio allocated to this trade is 5.73%
HABT was removed from the portfolio because it closed below our initial stop. The trade was initiated at 38.78 and sold on 6/3/2015 at 34.90. Our loss from the trade was -10.01% with a negative portfolio effect of -.49%. It's paramount to always adhere to your stops to prevent dead money situations. HABT might very well set up again and start moving higher. As a trader with other candidates moving, the position had to be removed to free up portfolio space.
During the last update, I included the complete watchlist for review. Not much has changed, but here are few symbols that were recently added.
