We added an additional 3.59% to LYTS today at 10.70, bringing our total position size to 7.72%. We also utilized 10% of our capital towards GLD this morning. By the afternoon, it was clear that GLD was not ready to move in the right direction. The decision was made to remove it at 111.40. At a 10% position size, GLD was responsible for a -.15% on our portfolio value.
As you can see from the above chart, GLD moved right up to resistance, and then reversed down by the end of the day. With this type of price action, its best to just move on and find a more productive home for your money.
Today was an impressive day for IPHI, closing at a new high and notching a +10% gain. LYTS and RTEC also moved higher on day by 7% and 6%. MXL drifted back and forth for the day and basically closed flat by the close. We will be watching RTEC as a potential add-on tomorrow.
PEGA and MRCY moved to new closing highs and will be monitored closely as potential new additions to the portfolio. If more stocks start participating over the next few weeks, we could see several new entries emerge from the watchlist. We will be adding AAOI to the list later this evening.
